I bought this portable/external 40GB hard disk from one of the shops @ Sim Lim Square @ $139. I didn't bother to compare the prices - just went into one of the shops, asked for the price and remember that my few other friends also got some other brands at a similar price. I tried it just now and now I have a backup of all my photos and documents :)

That's great. I desperately need one too but haven't had the time to go shopping for weeks (more than a month!). :( Hope to get one soon, but will have to maybe run down during lunch hour!
