Fish soup.kai lan.sweet sour pork

After visiting the cats @ Lingcat's cattery, we went to a nearby coffeeshop for dinner. The food was not bad.

Fat mama happy to see us

Yesterday afternoon, we visited Fat Mama who seemed glad to see us and got up from the corner of the cage to the front to greet us.

Cleaning tools

My parents are quite funny to get me these 2 brushes from Daiso, as I can use them to scrub off the soap scum in the shower area.

プレゼント Gifts

I got myself a vain gift - 10 cool bottles of nail polish in cool colours - which FR helped to order online. FR also bought this postcard from Macau with an interesting caption at the back. The pretty white cat picture is actually a mirror and the pouch can hold my iPhone - both are from S. My friends are contributing to my collection of cat stuff :)

Salmon zucchini couscous and lemon honey drink

I cooked couscous and made lemon honey drink for our lunch today. A few pieces of feta cheese and olives were added too. The couscous was a bit overcooked but still yummy :)

Tired Angel on the sofa

Angel didn't nap much this afternoon and slept in this cute manner in the evening :)

Good friends, wraps and Vietnamese rolls

We gathered at SP's place this afternoon to catch up and feast :) For lunch, we had wraps with veggies, gouda cheese and roasted rosemary chicken (prepared by SP). For dinner, FR got the ingredients for Vietnamese rolls and even made the refreshing parsley fish sauce dip.

My job is to support others

A few days ago, my HOD asked me to list down a few projects that will help big boss remember my contribution to our company. Sadly, till now, I can't think of any, as my core work is really about supporting my colleagues' projects, channeling requests to departments and coordinating, etc. There are no projects I can call mine :( I did share that with my HOD (who joined us 3 months ago) who was apologetic and understands that i have doing work that is not appreciated.

I am not ambitious but I have been questioning whether I should be more proactive in finding more meaningful work than just continuing working like this.

Rain, lunch and Japanese 雨.昼ご飯.日本語

It was raining heavily when I left office for the lunch venue. I needed to take a break from work and most importantly meet my dear friend. Somehow, I only managed to save the photo of the soups but not of the yummy bacon mushroom omelette focaccia sandwich and the chicken salad.

We were seated near a group of Japanese ladies and my friend asked if I understood what they were saying. I heard 先生 (teacher) and おもしろい (interesting) among the many things they said. My command of Japanese language is lousy, so even if I were to listen attentively, I won't be able to catch more words. Besides, I also didn't want to neglect my friend. Haha.

Earlier this afternoon, a Japanese man called my office phone from Tokyo and spoke in English, in response to an email I sent him. I addressed him as "Iizuka-san". He sounded a little surprised/pleased and commented that I know how to use the Japanese way of saying "Mr Iizuka". I should really start revising soon before I forget all the fundamentals.

Nice walk to dinner

It was too cold for a swim, so we had a leisurely walk from Bishan MRT station to Thomson Plaza. We had a good chat and also listened to some nice songs sang by Kit Chan. Dinner was braised vermicelli with seafood, stir fried kailan and lemongrass jelly @ Paradise Inn.

Fish curry and veggie soup

Second big meal of the day and I suspect there is a conspiracy to fatten me up. I can't resist yummy home cooked food :)

Seafood bittergourd soup

It was raining heavily when we had this lovely soup filled with fish, prawns, toufu, egg, tomato, Chinese celery and bittergourd. The seafood was yummy on its own, but dipping into the light soya sauce with chilli gave it more punch.

A break from office

I managed to complete the urgent work and left office around 12.40pm. The other work stuff can wait till tomorrow, as I want my afternoon break. I bought some nice chocolate truffle cake for family and I'm sitting in the bus, looking forward to the rest of the day :)

Destress therapy

I'm feeling a bit stressed about work this week, as emails, phone calls just kept coming and a few colleagues came over to my workstation to discuss about work. My plan to churn out some minutes of last Friday's meeting by yesterday has been ruined. I intend to do so at home tonight as tomorrow morning will definitely be busy and I want to take a break from work in the afternoon in peace. I'm glad I can still enjoy my meals and time with loved ones and in the mood to blog :) this photo was taken from inside the bus on the way home.

Baby spinach & cheese bread

This was part 1 of breakfast earlier and I also had a small sponge cake and a orange :)

Lazing @ home like Bob

I have brought back some work to do but I'm doing anything but that. Looking at Bob is more interesting :)

Leftover soup with other yummy dishes

We still had a small pot of leftover lotus root soup, so mom heated it up for dinner just now. It still tasted yummy together with parent's salmon n zucchini fungus.

Healthy mixed grain rice roll

For lunch today, I chose French bean, broccoli, kimchi veggie, mushroom and omelette for my 5 fillings in the roll. Yummy and healthy :)

Oreo relaxing @ night

Some shots taken last night :)
