Dream a little dream of me

One of my favorites when I sang karaoke eons ago. I don't know who the original singer but the cover done by the character Artie in Glee is quite nice.

There is also a jazzy version by Diana Krall.

king of wishful thinking

I like to sing along when I hear this on the radio. It's kind of chirpy even though it's supposed to be sad. But after looking at the MTV, it just seems to be a fun song. I didn't know that the song was featured in the movie Pretty Woman.

Listening to Kit Chan's songs

I'm listening to the songs from these 2 albums that Fion has lent me as she finds her a talented singer and wants to share the joy of enjoying her songs. I like some of her songs, especially her version Leslie Cheung's 追 and a few of her original songs.

Le Couple (ル・クプル)'s ひだまりの詩

I used to listen to this song and sing along with it without knowing its meaning. With my lousy Japanese, I still could not understand its meaning and googled for the lyrics meaning and found this link with the following translation:

How long has it been since I last saw you?
This morning, the letter I sent to you was sent back
Like the newly awakened leaves waving by my window
Only now I've realized that the long winter is past

No matter what I say, it's just no use
You loved me, and embraced me completely
You were like the warmth in my life

In our last photograph together, the flowers are ablaze
And yet I can't keep my promise to send it to you
Even if now I were to receive
Both your kindness and your stubborness

Even if I were to grow to like other people
I'll never forget all you left for me
So that I could love again
Even if I never see you again in this world, I'll go on living
You loved me, and embraced me completely
With all your heart
You were like the warmth in my life
You loved me, and embraced me completely
That was the warmth in my life

Music and earphones = good coffee

They are quite effective when I am feeling sleepy. However, the earphones can block out background noise quite well, so I can't have the volume too loud or I won't be able to hear my phone ringing or colleagues calling me.

痴风 (Eating Air Movie Theme) by Juliet Pang

I like this song after hearing Juliet's duet with her friend, Joanna on Tues.

Music for the soul

My 2 friends and I attended the 1st set of a friend's performance at the Esplanade Concourse earlier this evening. It was lovely to hear Juliet share her journey and her singing with the accompaniment of a piano and a guitar. I like the duet of the theme song for the local movie "Eating air" by Juliet and another local singer, Joanna.  I was tearing a bit as it's heartwarming to hear the 2 friends singing beautifully and enjoying themselves. More information about Juliet's music is at this website:http://www.julietpang.net

Shugo Tokumaru's music

Last Mon, I read in the Straits Times' Life!'s article "Dream diary whimsy" about this singer-songwriter, Shugo Tokumaru. Tickets to his show on 19 Mar have been sold out and he said to the journalist that he doesn't think his abstract lyrics (in Jap) make much sense to Jap listeners and he encourages people turning up for his gig to "imagine new scenery, lands, dioramas and lots of different colours". I cut out the article, so that I could google about his music.

Here are 2 of his music videos. Cute animation and really whimsical music. I don't know what he is singing though :)

We are all alone

Sis found me another lovely song by Angela Aki. It sounds familiar. An old English song.

Angela Aki's Tegami

Cousin recommended this song and I like it. I have been listening it for a number of times and tried to sing along to the lyrics found here. But I have to skip a number of chinese characters. Hee.
