I made 2 shepherd pies as planned. I have earlier passed one to my friend. Hope she and family will like it. My parents and sis have tried the pie and they like it :>

This was yesterday afternoon. Such fine sunny weather is great for outdoor activities but the heat can be unbearable at times. 

I made this shepherd pie for the bbq organised by my friends last night @ East Coast Park. I used the chicken sausages to indicate chicken meat beneath. The one without had minced beef. I'm happy that my friends like the taste of it. I will be making some more for my family and a friend later. 

We let Pip out for a walk in the exercise ball in the balcony. However, after a short while, we found him fast asleep at the corner :> 

Searching for White Neck

Mum couldn't find White Neck at his favorite spots this morning and afternoon. He also didn't turn up. I was getting worried when I couldn't find him at those spots too just now. Then I decided to look at the other side of the park. I was so happy when I saw White Neck walking out from the pavement near the playground. I led him back to the usual feeding place and he drank lots of water. He ate some dry cat food and proceeded to lay on his side on the cool sandy ground under the tree. He just fell into deep sleep while I gave him a gentle massage. His breathing slowed and tail not moving.

Then he woke up suddenly and drank some more water and ate some food. Back to the sandy ground again and slept. I massaged him again. This happened another 2 more times. Mum and I found it strange but we said maybe he feels weird and just wants to take things slow :>

We left him resting on the pavement after all the people and dogs had all gone home.

Releasing White Neck back to the park

Mum and I went down to the park with White Neck in the carrier around 10pm last night. Our upstair neighbour, a lady carrying a pet schnauzer wascurious when she met us going down in the lift. We briefly explained to herwe sent White Neck for sterilisation and was going to release him back tothe park.

We found a quiet corner in the park and I opened the carrier door. I remembered the pet taxi guy's advice not to give White Neck too much food but more water as he may vomit. But White Neck behaved like he hadn't been eating for a long time. He finished the small can of cat food and still begged for more. When he approached Fat Cat, Fat Cat went growling at him and we quickly separated them. Mum fed him some dry cat food and it seemed like White Neck was still hungry. I cleaned White Neck's body and tail with some wet tissues as he was damp and stank a little of either vomit or urine.

After all the eating, White Neck proceed to lick himself. Then he rested on his side and allow me to stroke him. His tail was moving and he changed positions a few times. He looked so restful with his eyes slightly closed. Then his tail stopped moving and his breathing slowed, I gently nudged him, There was no reaction. His body felt heavy. I panicked a little and asked Mum if there was something wrong with White Neck or he had overate. Just as when we thought he was dying, Mum lifted White Neck's head up a little and he woke up. I really got a shock and was happy that he was alright. Mum said he must be feeling very tired and relaxed after my massage and fell into deep sleep.

White Neck started sniffing the ground for food again. Then he approached Fat Cat who growled @ him. I quickly carried White Neck away. He became more alert and walked to the edge of the park.

White Neck looked blur in the early evening. Right now, he is scratching the insides of the carrier. Earlier, I placed some food and water for him to drink and he squeezed his way out of the carrier and just sat quietly on the balcony floor. I quickly removed the soiled newspaper and put in fresh ones. Strangely, he entered the carrier again when I put some dry food in. Mum and I will be bringing him back to the park to release him and will monitor him for the next few days. 

The pet taxi guy sent White Neck in this carrier after he was sterilised in the afternoon @ Pet Clinic @ Serangoon Garden Way. I was a bit surprised to hear the receptionist that the vet was doing the procedure then when I made the appointment @ 9am. White Neck must be hungry and scared cooping in the carrier. However, my hope for him is that after sterilisation and with a tipped ear, he will live a longer, healthier life. 

I trapped White Neck into the cat trap around 8.30pm just now by luring him in with some canned food. He seemed alright at first and then he started to tear at the newpaper lining and sticking his paws out. He looked so pitiful and mum kept asking me to release him. I have been wanting to send him to the vet for sterilisation, so I stand firm. Now I'm waiting for the pet taxi to come pick him from outside our flat. He's meowing. My heart feels so heavy. 

This was my breakfast this morning - a slice of Jasmine's banana cake. 

Jasmine baked banana cakes on Sun and this one is for me and mum to try. It is a good effort even though it's more on the salty side :> 

Today has been a long interesting day. I was @ East Coast Park from 9.30am till 5pm. With the help of another committee member and some young volunteers, we sold some of Cat Welfare Society merchandise. There were some interesting and nice people who shared their feelings about cats. 2 showed me the photos of their cats on their handphones! A few of my friends also pop by and we also had a few dog visitors who decided our booth was a cool place to rest. Hee. 

CATS Classified Pets Corner Party by the Beach

Come down to this pets event held this Sun (10am to5pm) @ East Coast Park @ Carpark E2, next to the hawker centre.

Besides being entertained by the following activities:
- Champion Wagger Contest (see which dog can wag its tail for the longest time) @ 11.30am
- Dog Obedience Contest @ 12.30pm
- Best Catcher (Dog) Contest @ 1.30pm
- Hamster Race @ 3pm
- Heavy Weight Contest (big-sized, not fat rabbits & cats) @ 4pm
there will be stalls offering pet-related services and products.

AVA will be there to promote responsible pet ownership. You can also meet other animal welfare groups to find out about their cause or support them by buying their merchandise

Colourful tangle. Just like my life. I have tried to make my life interesting and meaningful after work and over weekends but I am still trying to unravel the knots of what I hope to achieve in my life. I guess I have a lifetime to discover.
